Location | Taipei City Housing Conditions | New house Floor Space | 28 pings (roughly 92.56 sq.m) Main Building Materials | Weathered wooden veneers, spray paint, steel plate of titanium plating, concrete finish, terrazzo, The site is located in Beitou, a place full of a humanistic atmosphere, where you can quietly gaze at the beauty of Yangmingshan and Datunshan. What one can smell in the air is the time of relaxation when one can still enjoy oneself without being distracted by the hustle and bustle of Taipei. The sunlight is diffused through the French windows, and the pure white towering terrazzo stone pillars support the entire space, and the designer uses sheer material quality to express the space. In defining the space between the foyer and the living room, we used a cutting technique to divide the transition space with terrazzo stone pillars and modeling cabinet bodies and cleverly combining the light through such a frame into one. On the facade, the living room’s TV wall stone pillars and the foyer stone pillars support the space, there are many beam-column structures in the house. One cannot help but consider how to resolve this inharmonious form by giving up the overly-decorated stone pillars and beam-column structures through the application of a concrete finish while stringing them together by spray-painted corrugated plates, clearing up much embarrassment. The master bedroom and the bathroom space continue the spirit of the public area, with a piece of glass as an abstract distinction, and the skillful use of dyed black wood veneer in the bedroom is not oppressive, while the bathroom space uses a lot of terrazzo with large round mirrors on the floor and elevation. The design method goes through the purity of the sheer terrazzo, the calmness of the wooden veneers, the simplicity of the PANDOMO flooring, and finally the integrity of the family who lives here. |

Location︱Taipei City Condition︱Used Home Area︱48 ping Primary Materials︱hard wood floors, metal fixtures, spray paint, special coating, terrazzo, “This project” approached us after viewing our work and as such, there was a deep foundation with the owner when designing the concept of “this project”, which is based on the use of light and shadow to interpret geometric designs within the space. The floor plan included removing existing dividing walls and rearranging the space into an open space that utilized the relationship between walls to create areas that are ephemeral yet interesting in the residence. The massive beam is utilized as a “horizontal line” while a column was designed to be the “vertical line”; the two intersect at points, penetrating the cabinets and floors to add dimension to the space. The cabinets utilize details such as corrugated boards/arc-shaped panels. Sunlight fills the white-dominated space with ease while shadows seemingly bestow life to the geometric designs. |

Location︱Banqiao, New Taipei City Housing Conditions︱Pre-Owned House Floor Space︱27-ping (roughly 89.26 sq.m) Main Building Materials︱FENIX high-pressure laminates, metallic paint, stainless steel panels, special limestone coating, tiles, This project is located in the center of the Xinban Special District. The 22-story apartment offers great views of urban splendor while providing a perfect distance from the chaos. The homeowners are a young married couple who love minimalism but have different definitions or needs in terms of aesthetics. Therefore, we integrated both of their ideas by utilizing the cool tones of stainless steel panels softened by curved designs. Special limestone coating on the walls combined with lighting design progressively establishes the interior’s atmosphere; the floors extend the overall visual aesthetics. Coincidentally, the layout of the “foyer/kitchen” and “living/dining room” create lines that act to separate cool rigidity/gentle softness, making the designer’s intentions clear. During the execution of the design, the homeowners’ spiritual transformation from work to the home could be felt. For the homeowners who lead busy lives, it is clear that they hope to return to the primitive simplicity of their home. |

Location︱Taoyuan Condition︱Newly Constructed Home Area︱26 ping Primary Materials︱special coating, laminate hard plastic, terrazzo, metal fixtures, spray paint, UBEKON When work began on this project, the owner was already in possession of certain ideas so the design aspect progressed to the theme very quickly. We based the overall space on the color white and after multiple discussions, the existing 3-room layout was changed to 2 rooms. The additional space was repurposed as the master bedroom’s closet and hallway storage space. The TV wall was designed to be open air, thus presenting a different visual appearance for the area and allowing for more free-flowing movement. The cylinder pillar next to the main wall was combined with metal fixtures and panels to playfully penetrate the space as well as interpret the designer’s technique. The metal panels can be used to display the owner’s collections and a light above the cylinder adds a softness to the space. The kitchen adopted an open design in order to correspond to the living room; the color palettes/materials of both rooms were selected in consideration of their relevance to achieving a balance between the two spaces. The sofa backing wall penetrates from the foyer through the interior while maintaining a consistent arc with light strips and other details which consolidate every aspect of the design language. |

Location︱ New Taipei City, Sanchong Condition︱New Home Area︱14 ping Primary Materials︱mosaic tile, spray paint, stainless steel panels, cement finish, This new building hidden within an old community is especially refreshing, visually. The owner in this project works in the tech industry and their attention to order is reflected in lifestyle. Throughout our discussions, we learned that the owner yearned for the “Wabi-sabi” style which is why we deconstructed the existing layout. The master and second bedroom have large paned windows and ample lighting while in contrast, the living/dining rooms lack sunlight. Thus, we laid glass tiles atop the dividing wall so that sunlight from the bedroom could be introduced into the living/dining rooms, allowing light to be shared between areas that are different in nature. In terms of color utilization, comforting neutral tones such as gray and white are used to emphasize layers of lighting in combination with the integration of different materials. While minimalistic in design, it’s not hard to see that the restrictions of the small space have been surpassed to create a very different type of minimalistic lifestyle within the small home. |

Location︱ Da’an District, Taipei City Condition︱Pre-owned Area︱25 pings (82.63 sq.m) Primary Materials︱Melamine panels, Sprayed metal, Black mirrors, Special limestone coating, Silestone, UBEKON It is extremely challenging for a third-generation owner to take over and transform a classic brand through innovative concepts; we, too, are confronted with this challenge in the current project. Our thinking had to be outside the framework of traditional classrooms. After much discussion, the foyer was divided with an electric door to create a transitional space that buffered the noise from the stairwell upon entering. Once inside, a product display and giant metal perforated screen greet the eyes. In addition to an aesthetic cooling device for machines, it also prevents people entering the space from disturbing teaching colleagues. The spirit of the design is extended throughout the remaining space and applied in a simple beverage and snack counter to make the best use of every inch of space. The teaching area is composed of 3 large work desks that include cable organizers that maintain aesthetics while also satisfying the demands of various classes. The entire space has a large area of single-sided lighting, thereby eliminating excessive colors and creating a colorless base. The light runs across the bare ceilings, exposed piping, aluminum ventilation ducts, and wooden geometric designs…the combination of walnut grain softens the rigid atmosphere of the space and also provides the benefit of elevating visual layering. |

Young proprietors often invite friends to gather at their home. Therefore, we have made some adjustments in the layout planning, using the bar counter as the centerpiece to combine the dining table and the bartending area, making it the best area to gather when visitors arrive. Next to the sofa area in the living room, it is a relaxing space for family chats. The two fields overlap to create an excellent line of flow layout. Also, the bedroom/study room layout is designed so that the living space is not disturbed if an elder member of the family comes to live in the house. The young proprietors have their own space, and their newborn children have their playroom, so they can enjoy happy family life with three generations living under one roof. The overall design axis combines American trim and modern forms to express the unique structure type and living style. In the details of the design, the Masters of the house fully trusted us and took the concept of stacking in volume as the main axis of the design for the TV hanging cabinet, taking into account both aesthetics and practicality. The vertical and horizontal elements echoed each other. Besides, the proprietors have a special preference for home decoration accessories, expressing their unique taste ....... |

Space Type | Housing space Location | New Taipei City Housing Conditions | New house Floor Space | 55 pings (roughly 181.82 sq.m) Main Building Materials | Hardwood veneers, spray paint, ironware, concrete finish, wall covering, laminate wood flooring Generally speaking, when discussing with proprietors, most of the designs is based on functionality, but in this case, the design is based on usage habits and spatial scale. The entrance, through a large cement wall and high suspended cupboards, extends the visual focus. Following the eye-catching cross-beams and the neat and uniform piping of the ceiling panels, not only retains the ceiling height, but also the not so narrow arrangement of the façade and floor plan. In terms of material changes, the overall lines are involuntarily lighter through the structure of metal iron and carpentry. The arrangement of the space from the living room to the master bedroom extends a buffer zone from the interior so that the transition space where the atmosphere of the gradation light can be felt before entering the private sphere from the common area. In terms of functionality, it also allows the other partner to rest without being disturbed when they leave early and return late. In general, the partitions are linked to make the flow more interesting. The same design concept is maintained in the bedroom. With so many hard lines and cool color tones, it is ultimately necessary to use some soft materials to blend them, which may seem like the right thing to do, but behind the scenes, it takes a lot of thought to collide with the different lingering charm. |
